FAQ
of Re-usable Incontinence Pants
Q.
Will I need a waterproof cover?
A. No. The wet zone in Dry N Free Re-usable
Incontinence Pants has a waterproof layer. It is a high quality
polyurethane laminate (PUL) which is waterproof, yet breathable. Our fabric is
custom made to provide a soft, breathable and waterproof barrier.
The built in lining is made from high quality
microfleece. It keeps your skin feeling dry.
Q.
Are they hot?
A. No. Our fabrics are breathable, making them
cool and comfortable.
A. Yes, Dry N Free pants and liners can be used by
men and women.
Q. Should I wash
Dry N Free prior to use?
A. Yes. This will remove
manufacturing residue. We recommend pre-washing the absorbent inserts several
times to enhance performance.
Q.
What are Absorbers made from?
A. Our absorbers are made with a super absorbent
blend of bamboo/cotton. A renewable resource, Bamboo has natural
antibacterial antifungal properties.
Q. Why are my Dry
N Free pants leaking?
A. Assuming you have the
correct size (creating a snug seal around legs and tummy), Dry N Free
pants should work well.
The most common reasons for
leakage are:
- Too much detergent in the
wash. Washing with too much detergent leaves a residue on clothing. This
residue will hinder the performance of the inner lining (cause it to repel
liquid). To avoid this, use half (or less) the recommended amount of
detergent in each wash. This is more than enough to clean them properly; and
- Not enough pre-washing of
the absorbent insert. The absorbers can take several washes to reach their
full potential.
Q.
The lining on my pants continues to repel liquid and cause leaks, what can I do?
A. If you find your pants
are constantly leaking and liquid simply isn't making it through to the
absorbent insert, the problem is usually due to a build up of detergent on the
inner lining. A good way to clean this off and refresh your pants is to follow
these steps:
-
Wash your Dry N Free pants using a hot machine
wash (no detergent)
-
Wash again in a hot machine wash, this time
use half strength detergent
-
Cold rinse
-
If bubbles remain in step 3's rinse, run
another rinse
-
Line or tumble dry (on low)
Q.
Which detergent should I use?
Any normal detergent is
fine. Remember to use only 1/2 the recommended strength for the size load you
are washing.
Our preferred detergent is Planet Ark/Aware (New
Zealand - Eco Store or Amolin are good choices). Do not use clear or natural
soap products as they can leave an oily film on the lining and hinder
absorption. Do not use fabric softener.
